Briolf Group enters for the first time in the top 50 of Coatings World's Top Companies
Disolac participates in the MAV Cluster event on coating solutions
The MAV Cluster has held its first 'solution' day to learn about the capabilities of cluster member companies, between them Briolf Group, with Disolac solutions.
The MAV Cluster has held its first 'solution' day to learn about the capabilities of cluster member companies. This was focused on the presentation of solutions in surface treatments and coatings by physical methods from the Briolf Group, TMComas and Flubetech which provide solutions to problems such as corrosion, wear, adhesion, biocompatibility and aesthetics.
"The field of surface treatments and coatings is constantly expanding and innovating to obtain and improve materials with greater mechanical and decorative capacities", explains Dolors Pla, Cluster Manager-CEO of the MAV Cluster.
Surface coatings are a solution that modifies the characteristics or finish of a material’s surface, improving its final properties without affecting its composition. "The wide variety of applications that arise every day from different industrial sectors have given these solutions their position in the industry", adds Pla.
The conference was attended by experts in physical-method coatings: Lluís Martínez, technical director of the Briolf Group, Jaume Nin, technical director of TMComas, and Francesc Montalà, technical director of Flubetech, representatives of three of the cluster’s member companies, and Dolors Pla, Cluster Manager-CEO of the MAV Cluster, as session moderator.
Disolac, a certified anti-corrosion paint
The Disolac system is a paint that is certified to protect surfaces from corrosion. The solution consists of two coats of primer (a first epoxy or alkyd coat and a second polymerized coat that can be polyurethane, acrylic or acrylic-polyester) and a final topcoat that allows any color to be applied to the surface.
"The polymerized coat is chosen according to the final properties that you want to give the part, such as resistance to chemical agents, ultraviolet rays, weather conditions or abrasion", explains Luís Martínez, technical director of the Briolf Group.
This system also allows the incorporation of an additive that protects surfaces from graffiti or other painting. It is a coating with a very low surface tension that prevents any other paint from adhering. "In the event that you want to repaint a part that has been coated with the anti-graffiti product, it can be easily polished to remove the protective layer and then painted over", Martínez explains.
On the other hand, the Disolac system adds aesthetic value to the coated surfaces, as it improves the appearance of the product and allows different finishes (matt, gloss, textured, etc.) in an infinite number of color variations. Its main sectors of application include the automotive, cosmetics and perfume sectors.
